Robert De Nero, Jane Rosental and Craig Hatkoff, founded the Tribeca Film Festival in 2001, after the attacks on the World Trade Center, their goal was to revive culture and economic activity in NYC, helping filmmakers reach out to their audience and reinforcing NYC position as a major filmmaking center.
