I’ve participated last week at SXSW Interactive in Austin, Texas and felt obligated to bring some handy tips for you.
First of all, if you have the opportunity, you MUST come to this show next year. You can meet the people behind the nicknames on twitter and find valuable information about building your blog right.
Meanwhile, your devoted correspondent will try to bring some (10) of the tips I learned:
1. When you build your personal brand as a blogger, remember that it stands out better with unique name.
2. It is very important to keep consistency online, even though you might get bored out of your nickname. For example, if you create an avatar, stick to the same one, and don’t change it rapidly, as your community will not be able to identify you.
3. I know, it might sound absurd, but if you post somewhere your picture, use the real one, BUT pick it carefully (get out of the box)!
4. When you post comments on other publications, avoid from being too rude, too polite and even too frequent. It says a lot about you!!!!
5. If your brand is important to you – keep active for a long time. Persistency is crucial for your success.
6. Share your flickr images with others – they want to know who you really are, and we already know that image worth 1000 words.
7. Try not posting publically disliking or bursts of anger at somebody – you never know how it will end up.
8. Be cautious and sensitive about your privacy and the tools you use.
9. If you are big enough (well done!), encourage your employees to write on your blog.
10.And the last and the most important, your readers come back to you because of your content – visualize it with PicApp.
Have fun,
Maya Gura
